As evening descends, the kitchen’s expertise truly shines. Imagine savoring the delicate, flaky Sea Bass, sustainably sourced from New Zealand’s longline fisheries and roasted to perfection, accompanied by bright charred blood oranges, fresh tabbouleh, asparagus, and a drizzle of mint oil — each bite bursting with layers of freshness and depth. The Veal Braciole, rolled with fresh spinach, wild mushrooms, and Parmigiana, paired with charred tomatoes and a garlic toastie, delivers a comforting yet elegant taste experience. For those craving rich, hearty flavors, the spiced, grilled Lamb Lollies served with Israeli couscous and a unique buttercup cheese relish offer a playful balance of textures and zest.
Wild Rosemary’s culinary philosophy shines through in every dish — a commitment to local farms and seasonal ingredients that respects the land and ignites the palate. Diners appreciate this dedication not just in words, but in the vibrant flavors and freshness that come through every plate. As one guest fondly shared, dining here evokes the warmth of family holidays, offering both exceptional food and remarkable value.
While the restaurant encourages bringing your own wine to complement your meal, guests should inquire about corkage policies to ensure a seamless experience. Truly enjoyed our dinner here, it felt like eating with family during a holiday. The food was wonderful and very reasonably priced.
I have been looking forward to dining at Wild Rosemary for quite sometime now and boy, was it worth the wait! The atmosphere is filled with the best energy, from the people behind the scenes, to the other guests. The food was excellent, and I felt so cozy and comfortable in the eclectic dining space. You could tell other diners have been coming in for quite some time, and they keep coming back for good reason. I'm looking forward to many more visits!!!
The sandwiches were exceptional! But other things were lacking. Be careful to order water because they are shilling bottled Fiji water - the tap in USC is perfectly fine lol. No need to ship water across the planet when we have plenty here in PA, which is in strong contrast to their mission statement per their website: “We support local farms and strive to buy as much locally sourced food ingredients as possible.” The chips on my plate look like a decent portion but there were guests at my table who received half as many - I thought that was a cheap touch. Finally, there was some very clear tension between FOH and BOH on the day we were there which led to the servers being visibly stressed and upset to the point of not providing great service. Looking forward to trying their dinner service!
Under the new ownership, this place has been going through different iterations as it's been trying to find it's niche. Now it's relying on a seasonal menu which is mainly Italian in nature and a slew of us made reservations and headed there to try them out. The place if BYOB. We did not ask if there is a corkage fee and brought our own wines. We got a selection of appetizers, mains, and a single dessert and enjoyed most of them. The Arancini appears to have a different filling depending on the whim of the chef, or available ingredients (the wait staff did not know) and the one we were served had Broccolini and red peppers in it. It was fabulous. Also great was the Stacked Eggplant. Completely ordinary was the focaccia with dipping oil which left us bewildered as it tasted like a white bread - where are the herbs? - and was somewhat underbaked to boot. We also got the Mediterranean salad which was just OK. For the mains, we selected the Chicken Milanese - superb! - the Short ribs that came on Penne - it was melt in your mouth tender and the tomato sauce on the pasta was very tasty. The meatballs were super fluffy and moist. The pasta was done just right and absorbed the various sauces well. The only disappointment was the Midnight pasta which was inexplicably dry. We also tried the Tiramisu which was different than the traditional one, but very tasty. Since this is a very small space, reservations are required. We know the menu will be changing some time in October and the servers either did not know, or were not willing to share what the new menu would look like. Nonetheless, we will be checking out the website because we really enjoyed the food and want to come back again.
What an experience last night at Wild Rosemary for our 15th anniversary celebration! I've driven by this unassuming 22-seat gem more times than I care to mention, for what seems like 20 years. What a mistake! We began our evening like any celebration should, with bubbly! A 2019 bottle of our favorite pet-nat from Las Jaras, followed by their 2020 Trousseau Gris. Shortly after we popped the cork, we were presented with a whipped Luxardo cherry mascarpone. Said cherries were also reduced in a red wine. A couple of off menu special followed. The baked ricotta with roasted tomatoes, pickled artichokes, olives, and peppers, and the prime carpaccio. Next up was the U-8 grilled scallops that were so sweet. It was like eating ocean's candy! Now, to our actual entrees, the lamb shank and veal chop. Incredible in every way, from the chop's crispy exterior and extremely succulent interior to the perfectly rendered shank, these dishes outshined the rest. Which is an insane statement. This may all seem like a lot, and it was! To be fair, we spent 3 and a half hours here, totally enjoying one another's company. I meant it when I said experience. This place is a whole vibe, to say the least! We spent the evening listening to the likes of the recently late Bobby Caldwell, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, Gino Vannelli, the Doobie, and Isley Brothers, Shalamar, Commodores, Anita Baker, Santana, DeBarge, Sade, After 7, EW&F, and a host of other joints that just made the mood right! We rounded out this incredible evening with some La Prima french press coffee and the Yaya dessert. This textural BOMB is an accordion crunched filo loaded with nuts, honey, and whipped cream. Think deconstructed baklava, but with a nuanced sweetness. I'd be lucky to finish 1 triangle of baklava. Had there been more coffee, I may have ordered another! I quite literally left a list of dates for our next return visit. It's that great! Thank you to the ladies who made our evening incredibly special!
